    I get about 60' line of sight with no top Plate. I was lucky though and my old one performed similarly so not so much of an improvement but I appreciate the effort and certainly help those with the 10' or less range problem.

    Received the torx key No8 who was missing, and tryed to perform an install.
    Thanks for that, I coudn't find that tool in my area.
    First of all the long pointy plastic stick isn't strong at all, by using it, the pointy part broke, leaving tiny bits of plastic.
    I think I remove all of them I just hope no bits gets into the brain
    Then I had some hard time to get out the old antenna; maybe because I never forced during the process.
    When done I realised the connector who come from the brain to the original antenna seems soldering.
    No install for me. :(
    What a bummer.

    that does not sound like my experience.. went like a breeze following the step by step.. hardest was not skipping ahead (-;

    antenna is a miniconnector that does look like it is soldered but is in fact a very small coaxial connecter; pretty nifty.. had the same
    reservation you had; but it looked like the picture in the PDF so I figured to go ahead and it came of easily with the spatel under it.

    I think you should contact your BS instead of or besides posting here (-;

    Joost I'm glad to ear your install "went like a breeze following step by step", but frankly it's not going to solve my problem.
    I don't want to sounds rude, but I don't really care about your experience and not asking for positif feedback here.
    And by the way my rep is probably still in bed by now.
    He will answer to my mail at the office hours.

    Installed the upgrade, booted up Epic and left it running inside the house while I went out to the front yard, closing the door behing me. Got to 154 feet before Redmote lost connection -- very cool!
    Very cool. We have even have some units running as far as 250 ft under ideal conditions.

    So the "10 ft range" feedback has been frustrating for everyone, we thank you for your patience.

    Should be no need Demitri. This is an early EPIC brain antennae upgrade.

    BUt if you are having a problem, please contact RED tech support to discuss that.

    Brice, I don't want to sound rude, but Joost answered your fears and concerns in his post. The connector is not soldered, it snaps just like in the instructions. Are your instructions in French? Maybe that is the problem, because to me they were very clear and concise.
    One camera is a shoot... two or more is a production.

    Elsie,
    I watched the video twice, wich is exactly the same as the pdf.
    I think I clearly understood the process, and did follow it step by step, stoping the vidéo each time I had to process.
    The old antenna describe in the notice isn't like the one we have in our Epic.
    I should have start by mentioning that, sorry Joost for the bad mood.
    I can't even see the conector with a magnify glass.
    Becoming blind maybe.
    Anyway I'll wait for the reply from the upgrade team.
