    Hey guys.

I've looked around and can't seem to find an answer to this problem.

I'm trying to import an EDL (Filetype 16) that was created in Media Composer 6.0.1 into RedCine X.

When importing, if I choose the destination as "bin", then the clips relink to my original RED files perfectly. But if I choose "timeline", then the clips get put on my timeline, but the black spaces that are in my original MC timeline don't translate properly. For instance, all of my black spaces are only 1 frame in length even if they were originally 8 frames. I also noticed that my video clips were 1-2 frames longer than they should be.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

If I can't get my timeline from MC over to RedCineX without any glitches, how am I supposed to do my online? (I need to export my up-ressed timeline in DPX to ingest into a Nucoda color correction suite, so if I could get this to work then it would be the easiest workflow possible!)

    Thanks a lot guys!

    Hi Geoff,

Can you send me your EDL to redcinex at red? I'd like to take a look at your black space issue. One thing to also keep in mind with Avid EDL's is to set the source timecode option to Exclusive when importing into RCX.

    Hi David,

Thanks for getting back to me. I sent you an email with the EDL. Please let me know that it got through.

    Thanks, man!
