  1. #1 Export to 4K for youtube???
    Heya Everyone

Sorry if that has been discussed and cleared but...

Anyone know how to export out a 4K render from Premiere Pro to upload on youtube?
Can you notice the quality difference being online, between the usual 1080p upload and 4K?
Few people said the 4K looks more like 2K after it gets compressed online?

Just wanted to know if its worth creating a youtube account to upload 4K files

Here are the 2 pieces i shot. directed. edited online via vimeo as 1080p:

    password is hype123

    and...

Just export H264 MOV at like 80mb 4K. Or 60mb VBR. Youtube is gonna compress the hell out of it anyway. The less motion, the better youtube looks on a 2560x1600 screen, for example.

So should my output read as this?

    format H.264
    4096 x 2304
    profile high
    level 5.1
    tick render as maximum depth
    bitrate encoding VBR 2 Pass
    target bitrate 80
    max bitrate 80
    tick use maximum render quality

    Estimated file size 2641MB

    ?

Daniel, I'm only a hobbyist but I'd always upload 4K and if possible in ProRes 422 LT. YouTube will compress anything 2k/3k/4k to 10-12 Mbps and 1080p to 5-6 Mbps.
I've uploaded a 4K Video a few weeks ago but for some reason the option "settings=original" for best quality is not available. So I uploaded the same video again and now it works.
Of course you'll get no "real 4K" but you can see the difference in full screen mode:

    1. Version, Palma de Mallorca, April 2012, only 1080p option:

    2. Version, Palma de Mallorca, April 2012, best quality option settings=original available

Sorry Daniel, just changed from private to not listed on YouTube.
    I've uploaded in 4K (4096x2304) ProRes 422 (LT), 11 GB file.

I think about 50-60 minutes via FCP export for this 4 minute video
