I liked Star ship troopers a lot... for some odd reason my mind goes back to that film and do not ask me why, but to me that whole film felt like it was done by aliens that had been studding humans in a telescope or such. All the acting was strange and futuristic in a way I have not seen in other films. But I have not seen it in a couple of years so maybe I will review it tonight before i go see prometheus (could only get tickets for midnight)...

To be honest, I enjoyed the first two acts while the intrigue started to build up. However, I felt the third act tried to cram too much in, too many twists and turns etc.

Although, like Tom said, the sequel (if it happens) has a great base to jump off.

And the ending is quite a treat :)

Bummed there are no 4K projectors in my area, let alone an IMAX theater.

In response to a question about a possible “Prometheus” franchise, Lindelof replied, “If you like it and want more, there is TOTALLY a design for this story to continue in cool and unexpected ways.”

I hope it lives up to it's R rating. It's a given as far as I'm concerned that it is a brilliant film. I hope it's also not suitable for fragile minds and will be delighted if it actually disregards the "socially conservative" prerequisite and actually portrays facets of the human condition like we were used to in the late sixties through the eighties.

I am REALLY looking forward to seeing this film.

There's at least one scene in there that lives up to the R rating. I will say no more!

Too bad, had an invite to the screening last night in Toronto, but missed it because of a family emergency. I too was SOOOO looking forward to this.

You have to realize that we began RED (about 6 years ago) to design and build a proper film replacement camera. A few years later... one of my heroes (Ridley Scott) shoots Prometheus on our cameras. It is his 1st movie not shot on film. After shooting... his comment is "film grain is so "1960's". :-)

This is dream come true for me... everything we could have imagined. And this is the same camera that is in the hands of many.

I can't help but sit back and enjoy the moment. There aren't many moments in life that measure up to this one...

    Jim
"The camera is arguably one of the most important of all inventions… it is the single tool that has the ability to stop time, record history, generate art, tell stories, and communicate messages that transcend language like nothing else ever conceived."

"Everything in life changes... including our camera specs and delivery dates..."

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone with a bad attitude.

Yeah, Jim... Prometheus is killer. Doesn't get much better than what's happening right now for Red. Congratulations, man. You stuck in there and did it.
