    Hello,

I am looking to make my first Red camera purchase. After spending time searching the web for information, I am now looking into the following starting kit:

SCARLET-X RED DRAGON w/ SIDE SSD AND LENS MOUNT - Standard - REDMAG 1.8 - Canon AL
    2st REDMAG 1.8" SSD - 64GB
    RED STATION REDMAG 1.8"
    DSMC SIDE HANDLE
    DSMC POWER PACK

I am looking to combine the above with some of the stuff I already have:

    Display: Alphatron EVF evf-035w-3g
D-Tap to 1B Female Power Cable for Red Scarlet together with Lanparte Sony V-mount Li-ion battery 150Wh

First and foremost: I would really appreciate feedback on the kit! Guidance, words of experience, and tips highly welcomed.

How will the Alphatron work with Scarlet? Anyone with experience of this combination?

Will there be enough with one side handle as navigation/remote control?

    Thank you!

I'm thinking of buying a Scarlet Dragon together with used equipment and third party accessories. What is essentially needed from Red? If you start with the Scarlet Dragon brain, what more do I need that I should not buy as used equipment?

I have boiled it down to

    New Red equipment
    - Scarlet Dragon brain with SSD 1.8 and EF mount
    - 5' touch display
    - quickplate for batteries.
    - DSMC Side Handle

    Used Red Equipment
    - Batteries and charger
    - 2 x 240 gb 1.8 media
    - 1.8 card reader
    - Top Handle

    Third party
    - Follow focus
    - Rods
    - Tripod
    - Mattebox
    - Filters
    - Rain cover

So I'm planning to update my Red Scarlet beginner's guide. What would you guys like to see, and any glaring areas that need updating more than others?
