    Looking for some answers:

EPIC sensor base sensitivity is 320 or 800 iso?
any ISO set in camera above base sensitivity is Post and so for "fake"?
If this is so, is any digital camera on the market doing "real" high ISO at all?
If all ISO above base sensitivity is a Post thing, then all we would need for really high ISO is the perfect post program to do so - REDcine?

    Thanks

Base is ISO800, but there's no penalty for choosing any ISO as the dynamic range is the same on each. Some digital cameras use analogue gain for ISO, which in their design will loose you one stop of highlight range for each stop increase in ISO above the AtoD voltage range limits. Some digital cameras supplement their analogue gain with some "baked in" digital gain and that gives the benefits of neither, and is indeed what you're referring to as 'fake' ISO.

Gunleik's writings on ISO are a good primer on how things work.
