RED PLAYER - Who is using it?

I'm just curious to see how others are integrating the RED PLAYER, bundled with the most recent versions of REDCINE-X, into their workflow. It is a new tool and there's been no discussion about it (or did I miss it?). Is anyone doing anything brilliant or innovative or clever with this little app? Will there be an iPad version? Is there a future plan for it?

I just loaded it into a 13'' macbook and am discovering it is kind of handy. Without a Rocket, I can play back most 1/8 clips smoothly for checking playback and data integrity. It won't play back much higher res than that cleanly - but not bad for fieldwork. At full debayer, I can check focus, sorta. Not critical focus, actually, on this little low res screen. But sorta. Not too shabby.

Where's my mobile plug n play Thunderbolt enabled Rocket in a portable box at a reasonable price point? (just throwing that in, for good measure....) -

I haven't used it on a shoot myself and I'm not sure if I would. Usually if the clients want to watch playback from a shot that's not on the in camera SSD we take a quick trip to the DIT cart and show off the versatility of the raw workflow and some possible looks in RCX Pro.

Not knocking the RED Player though, it's great to have options :)
