When trying to capture frame (Prt Scr) to either tiff or jpeg, the resulting image is mangled. Tried this on two PCs with no joy. Sample frames attached.

    Bulid 108.

    More Info:
Restarting RedCine causes the snapshot to produce mildly useful image (very dark though and different than displayed by RedCine), but until scrubbing, playback or selecting other frame or image. As soon as playback is done, subsequent snapshots are unusable.

I've tried everything to batch transcode QT clips.

using Reset RED app (automatically dumps library/redcine folder

    MacPro 8 core 16GB RAM, Leopard 10.5.3, quicktime 7.5
(anyone know if going back to 7.4.5 would help?)
    Redcine 108
Camera is Build 15 should I not use latest RedCine version?

render to different drive than source files

set viewing res to High medium quality

set resolution in project to 1920 x 1080

    match that resolution on output

render to separate folders option on.

    verify disk permissions

drive I'm writing to has permissions turned off.

ONLY thing that works is one shot at a time.

WHAT ARE PEOPLE DOING TO GET AROUND THIS? DOESN'T THIS SERIOUSLY INHIBIT POST-PRODUCTION FOR ANYONE?

using 2 different pc's at the office, one opened our footage last week and was working fine....switched to editing with converted proxies, and when we tried to export our footage to replace with the good footage, now redicine exports only fractalised images, worked last week, now it doesn't anymore, and nothing has changed on the machine, no upraging drivers or anyhting, it just stopped working. Tried re-installing redcine...still not working.

On the other machine, witch is 4 years old, redicine works, but i can't do any color correction, only output straight from r3D to tga, witch is fine by me, but when i loaded 8 sequences last friday to render all week-end, it stopped on the 1st 3rd of the second clip.......missing 9 000 frames for my edit this morning.....

The red is amazing, but the redcine flow sucks. When will a better pc version come out????

  4. #64 DPX Timecode from Redcine
    Hey guys...this old chestnut again.....

Haven't used Redcine for a job for a while....usually do redline but we are struggling with colourspace issues there at the moment (another story)

Doing a DPX seq export from Redcine to Cam RGB/Redlog. The correct originator is in the DPX header but the timecode (which should be edgecode as displayed) is all 00:00:00:00.

So I turn the burn in TC on and try again....now I get the correct originator and TC.....bugger......just wasted 7 hours extracting DPXs.

So processing again now 2k DPX etc with the burn in TC vertical set to 2047 which is out of frame.

Please can we sort this one....its been a while now!!

    Cheers

Have you used the builtin snapshot function rather than print-screen?

Yes, both produce corrupt images in all formats: jpeg, tiff, etc

ISO setting doesn't not change exposure. "exposure" changes exposure. chose ISO, any ISO and image drops back to initial exposure.

In RED ALERT I can change ISO with a resulting exposure change in image.

I am running REDCINE Build 108, Macpro 2.5 Ghz 4GB ram osx 10.5.3.

    Build 16, Mac OS X 10.5.4, QT 7.4.5 and MacBook 1.83GHz.

Unable to see updates in REDCINE, when i change the Color Space and Gamma. Is it a bug?
    Thanks

Just trying to transcode some Red rushes and I'm coming up against this problem -

Exporting 4k footage at 1280x720, 25 fps Quicktime Uncompressed 10bit via the latest RedCine on a PC box. Every time I hit go it displays the footage as solid blue, and when I check the outputted quicktime its a mass of coloured noise. The footage stays solid blue until I exit and restart RedCine.

Any solutions on this? I've got about a weeks transcoding to do...

Applied negative scale. All looks fine in the preview.

When exporting DPX: ignores negative scale values and interferes with the racking and puts a grey colour cast over the footage, despite any colour correction that is applied.
