Has anyone seen this problem. I think I have it confined to 2k from 4k. Its a triplicate of the original frame with purple instead of full color. I one case the problem was seen in all frames. The last render with another clip only demonstrated this issue in the last frame.

REDCine WinXP crashes when .r3d files that were in a project are moved between sessions.
1. I loaded .r3d samples from other shooters into REDCine and quit.
1. I moved .r3d files to another directory.
2. I started REDCine.
3. crash during or just after logo splash
Returning the files to their original location results in REDCine starting okay.
I remember a temporary fix on OSX involved deleting a default project file.
Mac Pro Quad 2.66, Mac OS X 10.5.1, RedCine 10.0.3.
When rendering 4k 16:9 files scaled to SD to DV QuickTime files, my whole batch of files takes 1.5 hours to render normally. But if I turn on burned-in timecode, rendering time goes to over 30 hours.
WinXP, 2GB RAM. Cannot export a 3K file as 2K. I can export a 4K file as 2K, I can export a 3K file as 1080P, but trying to export as 2K repeatedly crashes. Export format was Quicktime movie, using JPEG2000 or Sorensen. H.264 doesn't work at all.
I've experienced the same bug as Dave has above in post #35. Restarting the system corrected it.
I ams still having issues with REDCINE on any Mac if I have other software running. For best reliability and results, I have to make sure REDCINE is the only app running. This is a real PITA.
Mac Pro Feb 2008
8 core 3.2GHz
8800GT 512MB video - Driving dual 30" 2560x1600 displays
OSX 10.5.2, w/ Graphics Update 1.0
QT 7.4.1 (7.4 is junk, 7.3.x crashes constantly on this config)
REDCINE always launches to second display (can we change this?). Performance is 40% to 50% slower than if I run in single display (or mirrored) mode.
To clarify, if I run with a single display, a 550 frame encode of 4K 2:1 to H264 HQ @ 2048x1024 takes about 2:30. If I have both displays enabled, the same encode process takes almost 6 minutes.
EDIT> This issue seems tied to different codecs. I do not see a performance hit with multiple displays when encoding to ProRes or image sequences. But it happens with h.264 and DVCPROHD.
More Bugs discovered this weekend:
1) Having 4K frame framed in 720, Fit Height works fine: Shift X at all and now have black bar on Top. I believe (though haven't tested) shift X left and black bar on bottom (I experienced it but didn't try to repeat it.
2) Copy Paste on Color should not affect framing (IMO) I can see that as helpful in which case have it as another button or shift click.
3) I have 10 clips sized and framed. Now I import 10 more. I would like the option of having the all button maybe be a three way toggle between all and Forward to just affect the framing of clips to the right of it.
You knew going into it that REDCINE overrides certain aspects of the OS... Why not just turn the monitor off when you leave?
REDCINE locks you out of using the screen it launches on, but it does not lock you out of using anything else on your computer. On systems with more than one display, I can have other things running besides REDCINE. Do it at your own peril, though... REDCINE doesn't play nice unless it has almost free reign over your system, it's so sensitive and buggy, it's just plain annoying. I've crashed my mac just by letting REDCINE run, even restricted to CPU cores 4 thru 7, and tried to type something in Word or surf REDUSER. REDCINE needs a serious stability overhaul.
