  1. #1 Report Redcine Bugs
Please post bugs you find or suspect in REDCINE here. Please don't use this thread for "how do I?" - just report problems. Please include you platform, OS, graphics card, ram and REDCINE build.

I just made this sticky because people are not reporting bugs and issues in one place.

if i copy and paste color settings to several shots, everything is cool....
but after closing redcine and reopen the same project, some of the shots, that did get the pasted colorsettings are no longer visible, exactly: the image turns blue.

but this doesnt seem to happen always in the 1st reopening of the project....it may be ok, but after you open it several times, the blue images are coming.

    footage is 4k@2:1

ok if the preview is set to 1/4 medium....playback is 24 fps. for 4k@2:1
after switching the preview quality to 1/2 medium or high the perfomance decrease (or is it increase?), gets slower. this is normal related to my imac.
after switching back to 1/4 medium, the perfomance is again 24 fps...good.
but if you switch several times between the preview settings i described, redcine crashes.

    Mark,

Great idea... so everyone knows - I (and others) will be ruthless with this sticky. If there are posts here that are operator error or system error, they will be removed, but a post will be issued as to why they have been removed.

    Peace,

It might also make more to kill the thread when a new Build get released and start over - so all the bugs in the thread are for the current release build.

So, this thread would be for Build 82 bugs.

    Whadda 'ya think?

    Hi all,

I have to say I consider it a bug that on OS X Redcine (RedCine082_OSX) locks me out of my other applications. Cmd + Tab and other application-switching conventions cease to work. I can see other applications running on my second display but I can't even click on them there. There's no reason that Redcine needs to take over my entire machine. A modern OS X application should play nice with others.

It seems like this kind of breaking of strong OS conventions doesn't happen by accident, so if someone out there feels it must be this way of course I'd love to hear why.

    F11 gets you out.

Thanks, that is helpful. I hope I don't seem obstinate if I still count this as a bug. There's no reason to break with OS conventions like that.

The F11 thing is a bit flakey too. Unless you change your system settings, the Mac function keys are occupied by the gimmicky system functions. I use an external keyboard with my MacBook Pro, and on that keyboard F11 is Mute. So when I'm in Redcine, the F11 key does not get me out of Redcine. It does nothing. But the F11 key on the MacBook Pro itself does work to get me out. And then Cmd + Tab fails to get me back into Redcine! I Cmd + Tab my way back to Redcine's icon but nothing happens. I have to click on the dock icon to get back to the Redcine UI.

I realize Redcine has its roots in Scratch, which has every reason to shut out the OS and behave like a dedicated system. But Redcine should be more compliant with OS conventions.

(Although I'm happy that the dock doesn't pop up over Redcine's UI!)
