    You need a 4K industrial display and the appropriate GPU hardware. Right now, that's pretty limited. Next year, the only problem will be 4K displays as 4K video and high-resolution content acceleration are being baked into the new GPUs.

    Absolutely. 4K material makes a significant difference on 27"-30" 2560 monitors versus 1920 upscaled, assuming a viewing distance of 2-3 feet.

    It may not seem like much, but 2560 is close to twice the resolution of 1920.

    2560x1440 is exactly twice of 1280x720
    it is 33% more height and weight (or 78% more pixels) than 1920x1080
    while 4k have 2x height and weight (or 4x more pixels) than 1920x1080
    but what is good, you can get $299 shipped 27" 2560x1440 IPS LCD from ebay

    My New Zealand in 4k video i uploaded at 4096x2304 in h.264 5.1 and it looks okay. I think uploading ProRes to YouTube looks better because you are giving YouTube a higher bit rate to compress from.
