Better late than never I guess!

I shot this test late last year and finally got around to having the time to write it up and make the images available so everyone can make there own judgements about the results.



Ultimately that was the purpose behind this test....get a good lens, a good camera and get them out behind a flat port and see what happens.

Leave the evaluation to you the DP that will HAVE to be forced to shoot 3D underwater on wide focal lengths thru a FLAT port on a beamsplitter housing/rig. Mostly intended for feature productions.

Because I knew soon I would be shooting on the new Gates "Deep atom" housing

Seriously.... next week I'm diving with the GV4 beamsplitter housing you see pictured above.....doing a full review and shooting the same charts.

Then in the next month or so taking the Deep Atom tech training at Gates...

I have 1 immediate project we are selecting rigs/systems for ...... I would absolutely love to take 3Deep with me...as it will be the best underwater shooting conditions ever.

I will send you a PM and see you can participate. It would be a great way to showcase your systems capabilities...and we would also be filming with the beamsplitter so would be interesting to compare the footage and I think the combination of a side by side rigs like yours plus a beamsplitter rig is ultimately a pretty nice combo to head out into battle with....

Yes, I agree, a beam splitter rig and 3Deep would be a great combination to cover all the angles in the best possible way.
