I am thinking about purchasing the 18mm lens from RED. Can anybody who owns or has used one, tell me their experiences with the lens?

    Thank you.

I've got two of'm, for stereo work. Not exactly matched and the focus marks could use some work, but very sharp and one of my personal favorites.
    Can't go wrong with a battle-tested 18mm IMO.
    Good luck!

    Hey Robert,
I bought a battle tested one and was very surprised at how HUGE it was. I can't imagine this lens for hand held operation.

Thanks for all the input. Defiantly buying one as soon as RED puts them back on sale.

The whole line is amazing. As for witness marks...any good first AC should restripe the lens for accurate pulling.

I have one as well (battle tested)- and have only good things to say about it. YES it could use more witness marks, but the ones that are there are accurate (on my lens) and Duclos will add extra marks if you really need them.
Can't believe I get paid to do this.
If I don't own it I rent it...
