Is the footage on the redmags corrupt? Try playing back in camera.
I have played it back on the camera but the problem is you only see it when its at 1/2 or full debayer so even when your looking at the clip in RCX you only really see the issue when your at 1/2 or some times only full rez. I think the camera playback is only 720....
Im checking a new transfer with out the esata from the RedStation so Ill let you guys know how that goes.
Im also going to render out all the clips from the corrupt files to compare where the issue is and cross check it with the new transfer of files out of the REDMag.
I am experiencing the same problem. Any updates on what the issue might be? I tried recopying from the SSD directly to my computer's drive (as opposed to an external - where I first noticed the problem) and the exact same frame is corrupt. I would suspect if it was a "card reader" problem - it wouldn't happen on the exact same frame? Filed a support ticket.
I am having the same problem and I was shooting 2k at 1fps at 1sec shutter speed. On few minutes of footage I had like 7 corrupted frames. Good luck red lovers!
Any news about those artifacts?
Thanks,
Marc
Getting the same issue as well. I'm thinking it's a read/write issue and not related to heat.
Would love to get an answer from RED.
Yes - I'd love to get some more input from Red. The info I received was pretty vague. After sending in sample frames and a log file I was told I should upgrade my firmware. But I was on "release" firmware when the problem occurred. So it begs the question - what is "release" firmware, exactly? If this is a firmware bug - clearly it is not ready for prime time and should not be cleared as "release" firmware, no?
...and reviewing this thread - the problem is occurring over a number of different firmware versions - so a better explanation is needed.
did you guys file a ticket with RED? when these issues have popped up for me i file with RED and follow up with them on the phone and i usually get all the details direct from them....my case on the R1 it was a bad video card...but bottom line you have to follow up and do some work with them and give them details rather than hope they run across this thread and have to speculate....
Like I said - the response I got was vague. It said engineers "believe" the corruption was firmware related. Does not give one a lot of confidence when supplying a camera to commercial productions.
