    No problem. :)

I did make a mistake regarding the aux power connectors on the Quadro 6000 though. It can be powered via a single 8-pin or by dual 6-pin. Using a 6-pin to 8-pin adapter in the Mac Pro on one of the aux PCIe power leads will actually over-draw that connection. Some people do it and I haven't heard any stories of it frying anyone's logic board, but it could happen. Anyway, yeah, external PCIe expansion is probably the way to go. And if you're using it for additional CUDA acceleration, you're better off to go with a Tesla card or possibly a GeForce card, depending on the application. For Resolve, I would use a GTX580, but that's just me... :)

Very cool, I was thinking about a TESLA card a while back, so maybe I'll still do that. That's super cool that your willing to send me away from your Quadro 6000, just so I would buy the card that would suit me better, your a stand up guy. To all of you watching this thread, $2000 for a Quadro 6000 is a killer deal, almost 50% off, and you won't find it anywhere else, and I would be willing to bet that it has been handled with kid gloves, and to most of you the Quadro 6000 will suit you the best, so buy it!

Yep. :) Just want to make sure everyone gets what they need. I'll sell the Quadro soon enough. I think my price is right on the money for a used one -- they can be picked up new for about $3700. Used ones go for around $2K on ebay. So do the grey market "stole it from the b-stock palette of cards at the Chinese factory" cards, so watch out. ;) You can also get the OEM "white box" cards for about $2400 from some vendors new. But technically they're not supposed to sell them on their own -- they're for integrating into new systems. Only difference is that they ship in a plain box and don't include any of the power adapters or driver disc... The disc is worthless anyway.

I've actually got a few of these cards here and may sell off one or two more once I know what I'm doing for GPUs in the new workstations arriving here. Just installed one of the Quadro 6000 cards in an HP Z820 that arrived today.

Jeff, is there a way to use the 6000 with an SDI daughter card?

Yes, theoretically. However, I don't even know where to buy the add-on, other than straight from PNY or nVidia. I believe it also requires the removal of the fan housing and need to install a different heat management system. There is a connector on the top edge of the card labeled for SDI. With this model, I think you have to do a bigger conversion to make it the same as the Quadro 6000-SDI model, which is a $7500 card. Yes, the SDI interface module probably runs about $3500 on it's own, sadly.

Considering the few applications that support it and that those applications support other monitoring options, as far as I'm aware, I would think it better to buy a Kona 3G or DeckLink HD Extreme or 4K card instead.
