so i see this sync solution with the olympus stereo mic to get on board sound (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...icrophone.html) and i have a rode video mic (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...a_Mounted.html)

ive been told i need a stereo to mono adapter to get my rode to work with the scarlet but i dont understand how this mic works cause it looks like stereo plug also just like my rode. what am i missing here?

Does anyone have problems with their audio popping. It's a pretty consistent low pop. I've had it with every microphone

You can use a small cellotape over the conectors at the lensmount...that could solve your problem. There still working at this bug

Hello -- I have random audio popping (you can even see it on the VU meters), especially on channel 1. Even with no mics connected. Sometimes a segment or two will light up (ch 1 especially) - with nothing inserted into the 3.5mm mic ports. Then, very rarely, there will be an extremely fast, very large burst on channel 1 (still with nothing inserted in the mic ports).

Is this happening on other Scarlets ? Seems to me I heard that removing the SSD side car & reseating it was suggested as a fix. (Before I do this, I'd like to know the root cause, rather than shotgunning.)

Comments ? Especially if others are seeing the same thing.

    TIA,
    Serge

I've been saying this all along. Do you really want to place a microphone that far away from the actors, and within 3 inches of the camera fan? "Reference Audio" is worthless if there's tons of noise going on. The microphone has to go close to the actors -- that's a simple rule of physics.

As in my post, i recommend placing the mic away from the fan using the extension cable included.

    Here is one example:
