175$ max for me too
Mr. Wong - I participated in a group buy recently for Kessler Krane's Cineslider, a product ranging from $1200 - $1700.
The group buy was very successful for Kessler.
The amount was agreed on before anyone purchased, that's how a group buy works.
What you are offering is something very different than a group buy, and will probably offend people and not get the result you want.
This forum is for people where the base price on their camera, the very least they will spend, is $17,000 - and for many the base is another $25,000 on top of that for the Epic.
If they sign up on the this thread, they WILL make the purchase, it's pocket change, but only when it's a normal group buy, the kind they are used to.
I suggest you re-consider your terms and offer a normal group buy, where the exact price is known at checkout using a discount code.
I also suggest that you enable people to add in special instructions if they want two whites.
Best Regards.

Same here. Doesn't like the refund option.Do it or not.
This affair could become a bad communication story for squarebounce.

I really like the option of a white and a black instead of the usual white and silver.
It is time for Lyon Wong to step up to the plate here and talk about what he really means. I would suggest $175, including shipping, with the buyer's option of what colors he/she wants (white/white, white/silver, white/black, silver/silver, silver/black, black/black) specified on the order form.
I don't know if we've ever seen a group buy rise and fall so quickly as this one.
Amazing.

Lyon Wong....looks like you blew it!!! i was in for 2 units at the suggested price. You moved the goal posts so now i'm out. I won't be purchasing anything. Reduser is a pretty tight community, treat us well and the return will be plentiful. There have been plenty of group buys on the Reduser forum that have worked very well. We are used to how it works. You had a really good opportunity here, we spend money, and lots of it. We talk to other people in our business, we use kit out in the field and other people see us and say " where did you get that from" many of us have no problem whatsoever with recommending that product to our piers. Yes you may have sold 90+ units at a discount, but potentially you could have sold thousands more from those 90+ influential buyers. Shame because it looks like a pretty cool product, as for me i'll stick with my poly board, insulation board, or whatever else comes to hand to bounce a bit of light a about.
What the heck happened to this group buy? I already paid $224 for a set expecting a refund of $49 by May 5th - bringing the total to $175. If I do not get the $49 refund by May 5th, I will demand a full refund. This was an impulse buy. Sure it's a cool product, but not the cheapest option out there. I only bought it because of the discount. I hope Squarebounce does something quickly or their reputation will suffer.
Hi I am in the same position as some of the others. I would do a group buy if the price is pre negotiated. I also would prefer to be able to choose the fabrics as well.
Thanks and let me know if you reconsider your terms.
Mike
