instead of buying new equipment, I attach an XLR adaptor that i ordered from Fortis Cinema on the top plate and use a small shotgun mic i already own to always record a scratch track, or even sometimes pick up usable audio.

Does anyone know if this mic still works for scratch purposes with the latest release build? I need to order one in the next few days and need to know that it works.

So does the Olympus ME-52w work or not? I prefer mono and unidirectional (and noise cancelling), so it seems like it could be the perfect fit. Also, the amazon page suggests that there are fakes around, maybe that's why some aren't working.

Were you able to get it functional Brandon? If so, what did you set the jack to (balanced, unbalanced, mic/line, phantom or non-phantom, etc.)?

I have Scarlet Build v4.0.6 and the Olympus mic.

Although it works, I cannot seem to get a clean signal. I hear digital blips and beeps when the SSD writes data. It will allow me to use it as a scratch mic to reference the waveform and sync with another audio source, but it is completely unusable in any other way.
