Rates for photographers are all over the map. The trick is to find a good photographer! Don't decide on one that's cheap :)
Actually maybe for US residents and people fluent in english ,it's easy to find, but i'm not from around here...
Assuming "all over the map" means "easy to find because it's everywhere" (?) If you have some keywords I could use i would be really grateful :)
I occasionally do stills out here in LA and abroad. Union minimum last year was $33 an hour I believe. That said, I always make above union minimum. The still guys I know and am friends with also make more than me due to their experience level and abilities. A couple of those guys have been doing it as long as I've been alive. On set still photography out here in LA is one of the more guarded and secretive professions and the hourly/day rate will vary greatly depending on who you are hiring.
A ball park figure would be $50/hour.
Correct :)
Nice ! thanks for all that !
This is very usefull informations for me.
If you ever need one in Toronto, my brother does it professionally.

"all over the map" just means that the rates are all over the place, e.g., they vary greatly depending on who it is and their skill level. :) that's like saying the prices for all the cameras released at NAB are "all over the map", some cost $12k and shoot 4k, some cost $85k and shoot 1080 ;)
Thanks Alex for improving my english ! :) I love to learn new "words".
