I'm looking to pull the trigger on the Clutch for my Scarlet, after a lot of thought it's the perfect shoulder rig.

However, I want to be able to add a Follow Focus and Mattebox to the entire rig. From what I have read on the site this can be done, can't be done, honestly I am completely confused.

    So I have two questions:
    1) Can anyone tell me what pieces I need to allow me to add a Follow Focus and Mattebox to the Clutch?
    2) Can I use 15mm or do I have to use 19mm?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I want to purchase everything sooner than later.

    1) This depends on what you want to happen when you remove the camera from the rig. If you want the FF to stay with the HH rig then you would just use the clutch as is. If you want the FF to go with the camera than you must use additional hardware to make that happen.
As for the MB, if it's of the studio variety, then the same rule applies ( you have to mount the studio MB on rods attached to an additional base plate). If it's a clip-on MB, then it's always going to follow the camera anyway.

    2) The whole system is meant for 19 but there's no reason why you couldn't use 19mm to 15mm adapters or just buy the 15mm version of the RED QR base plate and some 15mm rods.
...too much RED on the brain.

    Hey Joe,

    Thanks for the quick response.

I'm not looking to remove the FF from the HH rig, so that's not an issue. As for the MB, it's not the studio variety. In fact I am looking at getting the RED Mattebox and an ARRI mini follow focus.

So to clarify, the only additional pieces I would need then are is 15mm REDQR base plate and a couple of 15mm rods, this should allow me to attach the Red Mattebox and Arri FF to The Clutch?

I just ordered my Clutch and have been considering this too. The Clutch will already accomodate a 19mm set-up if you need it (eg. heavy PL glass, future upgrade possibilities). To go 15mm LW then you will need a rod adaptor like this:
http://x.com/lw-15mm-bracket which needs to attach to a base riser of some kind like this: http://www.x.com/easy-riser-epic Then of course you need a couple of rails to attach the matte box and FF to...
Another RU said that the front collarbone sits too high for a 15LW to be attached in front but there is an easy fix by mounting the collarbone underneath instead.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Graham and Joe.

I also spoke with the RED rep just now, they say if you attach the 15mm Rail Adaptor Centered to the front of the Clutch rig that will allow you to add the proper 15mm FF and Mattebox.
