Redrock microRemote?

Does anybody know what is going on with Redrock's microRemote? There seems to be plenty of reviews, boasts, blah blah (since 2010 btw) on the web but nowhere to order the thing.

I actually got an email from Redrock with a 'non transferrable' link to confirm intrest in remaining on their 'Early Notification List' on April 15th. In the body, it mentioned that I needed to repond by April 13th to remain on their list and that they are 'close to production'.

Terribly sorry old chaps, I seem to have misplaced my time machine. Also, I was interested when I signed up for early access/beta 4.5 years ago. I admit my interest has dimmed somewhat in the intervening years. I hooked up with another WFF a number of years ago, in fact. Sorry Redrock, it's not me, it's you.

Microremote allegedly ships June; one motor package with the non-iPhone remote and no range finder is allegedly under $2500... not sure how much the iPhone version adds in terms of cost. I love the idea of seeing DoF and actual range to subject overlaid - I hope it works as well in practice as it sounds like it would in theory.

They need to watch that price, at some point it becomes better to just get a used Bartech.

What i find most interesting is the little thumb-roll thing. I find normal FFs unergonomic on hand held rigs.
Anybody know of any similar products?

Hi Guys,

I know it's been a long time coming, but the big deal this year was that we were showing our own digital motors. Previously we were compatible with a wide range of motors, but they would all nearly double the price of the system. The prices you saw above ($1,400 for the thumbwheel version and $2,400 for wireless) is for a complete digital system which means that it includes our own digital motor.

So Shawn, I wouldn't see it as "coming close to the price of a used bartech" because the fact is the microRemote will be on par with a wide range of digital systems in all aspects. We don't want people to have to "settle" for a less expensive system, the microRemote will be able to play with the big boys just as much as any other system, but at a more end user price range.
