V-mount is the only option, and I'd rather go RED bricks - looks more reliable. I got some v-mounts from pretty good brand, but RED bricks in my list as well :) Tiny REDVOLTS - I'm consider them just for runandgun quick and easy, my scarlet gets them out of juice in 25 minutes max. But having 4-6 of them definitely not bad idea.

That should give me 1:40 min, I think, not sure about the charger
V mount is a standard so any charger will charge any battery, as long as both are v mount:),
    but the one from GMP charges two batteries simultaniously, while most of the other chargers are sequential;
i haven't try that one yet, will go buy now

Hey Stu, that looks good, so good, it makes me suspicious. Beillen is popular in Hungary, mainly for the Alexa, but it usually cost almost twice as much as from this chinese seller.
Also, there is no 150Wh version on their official site. (http://www.beillen.tv/V-Mount-Batteries) - and no charger, like this :)
What is your experience with them? 100% stable, no freezing or "rejecting" the battery by the Scarlet?
I can't find anything about Beillen itself, only the USA and EU distributor's site.
    thanks

-150wts (minimum I would recommend - our cameras are POWER-hungry!) = about 1hr 45min record time ea ( WITH a PIX recorder D-tapped to it too, so even better with just the SSD)
    -LiIon = light weight
    -cheapest I have found ANYWHERE
    -Free shipping (from china!)
-Free chargers (nothing fancy - but they work fine - oh, and: FREE!)
-Paypal with ebay protection - no BS about Bank $ transfers like some "other" overseas Battery suppliers
-great before and after contact and support. Any Qs answered same day.
    -displays Voltage in camera LED/EVF
-look/feel/appear to be identical quality to any other brick I have held

    will be buying more...

Anton Bauers as above mentioned are a great battery, but, man, they are DAMNed expensive, and nothing I have read here in RedUser suggests they are any better. V-bricks rock.

    Back:
I bought the x set-up. best turn-key system/price IMHO. Great service. Quality products.

Not sure what you mean by "V-Mount is the only option" — Anton Bauer (3-Stud) is a great option, and is, in many cases, much more secure. V-mount batteries are known to be easy to accidentally bump off the mount... this simply doesn't happen with AB mount.

Anton Bauer is great - but RED bricks are v-mount :) Never lost any v-mounts from the socket by the way :) but AB mount definitely looks more secure in some conditions.
And "old school" NiMH batteries from AB is a real killer - nothing last any longer! But takes time to recharge :)

I've asked before, but never got a clear answer:

Could you not get something like this and wire it to a 4-pin lemo (which is like $30-50 on ebay as well) and then connect whatever v-mount batteries you have to it? I mean, other than the physical v-lock, what else does the plate do? I thought it was pretty straight forward, but if it was, no one would be spending $600 on an aluminum plate, so what's the catch?

No catch - if you don't want to spend $600 on an "aluminum plate" :) and get DIY v-mount - go ahead, if you do everything RIGHT (!triple check wiring!) should work as good as any other battery plate.

I looked at the Anton Bauer stuff but you need different adapters and by the time you start buying everything it gets close to costing around the same. Most people in LA use Red Bricks so it would be good to have the adapter for it. I just got the Scarlet and my friend who has an Epic says the Red Bricks are the way to go.

I'm personally getting these because it's the cheapest option.

I wanted the Red Quickplate but it cost more and you need an adapter cable that cost another pretty penny just to use it. Also if you have a shoulder rig, you can just tape the Battery Belt Clip to your rig.

I saw this in another forum. Maybe a better option to attach to the back of the camera. Instead of paying for the DSMC Backplate adapter which is $1,200 plus the battery adapter.
