The O-Focus DM Cine and Photo Sets have had the desgin locked since release- there are no changes. Each set includes either the Studio or Photo Handwheel, the main bridge, QR LWS bracket, 10 marking disks and 5 driver gears: .5mod, .6mod, .8mod 35 tooth, .8mod 43 tooth, and a toothless friction driver.
This is one of the more common questions/ misconceptions. The O-Focus is compatable with the CFF-1 Studio 15/19 bridge BUT only when using really big zoom lenses like a 24-290 Optimo. This is because it is based on the 15mm LWS standard and is a direct drvie unit; i.e. it has no swing arm. To properly interface with primes and many zooms it needs to sit at the 15mm LWS height it was designed around (85mm from optical center to rod centers.) The AB-1519 adapter accomplishes just this for 19mm studio rods as does the AB-1515 for 15mm studio rods. This is the adpater I use and what I recommend:
So here's the wrap-up video from the show floor if anyone is interested.
The OConnor O-Focus DM won both the Tipa and DV Black Diamond Award this year at the show; thanks to everyone who made this possible!
At the end I briefly touch upon the Zeiss ZF vs Compact Prme questions.
Thanks for sharing Eric, I am interested in the photo set, but can i swap out the gears from the photo set to an actual gear if I am using PL lenses? Cheers.
Sure you can... The O-Focus even includes a .5, .6, .8 35 tooth and .8 43 tooth gears along with the toothless friction driver to cover all the bases.
