The ZF/ZE seem to have decent focus throws so I've been trying to decide witch gear ratio would work best.
The Cine set will definitely be fine for you. Like you said, the ZF/ZE lenses have around 300º focus throws, so behave very much like cine lenses... however they are much smaller in diameter. Using the smaller of the two .8 pitch gears may be better to your liking for that combination, but I can tell you that the Cine handwheel is much more comfortable to use (in my opinion) and fits in your hand better. If you need a better gearing ratio, you can bump up to the larger of the two .8 pitch gears (I use this with my CP.2s) for more throw.

There are a number of 19mm to 15mm risers out there. I believe Abel Cine carries one, Redrock makes one, etc. Just about anything will work, it's a pretty standard part.

Yikes! The OFocus may not be able to reach ZF/ZE lenses from Studio 19 rods, they may be too small. I would ask Eric Johnston to test this combo out for you before you commit to buying. Or test for yourself if you can get your hands on one. Even on LW15 rods, small lenses can be a problem for the OFocus unless they have large gears installed.

OConnor make a Studio bridge for 15/19 rods. If you do get the OFocus I'd recommend ordering the Studio bridge instead of a third party adapter from the LW15 bridge. With an adapter the whole FF will become very heavy and clunky.

Good to meet you on the show floor on Monday Eric. I've been real happy with the OConnor O-Box WM for the last couple months. Thanks for answering all the questions that led up to that purchase.

I was thinking the same thing after making my last post. Best thing to do is to have gears that are larger diameter than the lens itself. I know Redrock makes these, but I am not sure of other options. Definitely something you'd want to check out.

Thanks for the help Trevor and Satsuki. Sounds like I need to get my hands on one of these to test. My ZE lenses are from Duclose Lenses and have been "cinevised". I've been using the Redrock Micro Follow focus V2. I'm not happy with the gear ratio or the bulk plus the gear keeps falling off, very annoying.

Yeah, the follow focus and mattebox are the two reasons I'll never invest in anything big from Redrock again.

If you can get your hands on an O-Focus Cine, that would be the way to go. If you can't, let me know... maybe I can lend you mine for a few days.

Was very tempted by Redrock's Matte box at one point but have not needed to upgrade my old 4x4 Chrosziel. I'm looking around for an O-Focus to rent. When the time comes to buy, who does everyone recommend? I see B&H has them in stock are there better deals out there?
