Is there a meta tag for playing a clip in reverse, or will I have to render out reverse clips in conform?

Via XML export, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Not 100% reliable.

You should be able to apply a speed change on the clip, and set the frame rate to -24 in the conform page. Of course, if it's part of EDL/XML/AAF, it comes through as well.

But that would change the entire shot, right? Not that individual clip only?

Just right click on the clip in the Conform page, hit 'change clip speed' then change to -24
