    Hello,

We own a Boxx and just wondering if it is all possible to link up Redcine Pro x to do our renders? Right now our Mac Pro is just killing us on Render times, like 3 days to Render out 750 gb of footage. Thanks in advance. Ryan.

    Interesting idea.

Let me elaborate into your idea a little bit.

Are the files accessible on your local network?... my guess is that 750 GB of footage refers to many many many files. You should be able to assign a certain number of files to a certain number of machines.

RedCineX comes with a CLI version that you can call from your command line, meaning, you can build an automated batch script to do a certain amount of work.

Heck I'm curious now about the potential of something like this. I guess I'll give it a shot and post my results here.

Yea, and that way a bunch of Mac mini severs could actually replace the aging Mac Pros...

Only for transcoding. For applications like Resolve you are still stuck to what your local CPU could do. (Or RedRocket)

Anyone know what is the minimum CPU family/speed that you need to have to achieve realtime debayering? (in half-res... full-res... 4k... 4.5k... 5k... hdrx?)
