I'm going to stick up for Sergey here. I don't think it's right to call him "a total waste of time" and then express wanting to get in touch. Yes, he goes dark often. But his findings are worth it - and Russian Federation is not like UK or USA.

That's easy for you to say. He hasn't got 32k of your money and disappeared. Of coarse I need to get I touch with him, why would I not need to? He is not out lens hunting for me, the lenses I purchased are the lenses he sold on this thread that he had in hand. To not communicate with someone like this is totally out of order. It's not only me Norm also if read the thread. Before making ridiculous comments maybe you should consider the situation here. He hasn't kept any of his promises to deliver the lenses to me. We all know that Russia isn't like USA or UK for that matter, but thata's not an excuse, it's not a third world country. Plant of people do business from there with the rest of the world, I'm only asking for some communication, and then some solid results based on that communication. I paid him 6 weeks ago. I don't think it's unreasonable to feel a bit agitated by now.

Yes, I am agree, Sergey has the best russian lenses, Impossible to find in other sellers. I have bought him the last fast Lomo 22mm 35OKC-5-22-1 I have seen at internet and a couple of round fronts. Fantastic lenses in fantastic shape. He is a good man but... I think it is not acceptable that nobody disappear after taking the money from a person who has paid for a product. Russia is not Iran!!. I think Robert only expect an email with a little information. Don't worry, He always finish his deals, he is a good man. I only wish Sergey hasn't health problems and Robert can take his fantastic round front set soon. I am sure you will forget this when you get them.

Question for Dima Turaev, I believe you know Sergey. Do you have any information?

Last short email I got from Sergey was 2 weeks ago, he said he had sent my lenses and gave me a shipping number which I gather from my research is an EMC/EMS post number EA149898745RU I have spoken to EMS and they have no knowledge of the number. Also my local company - parcel force - who receive all incoming post from postal services from other countries searched the number today and said it did not exist in the system.

I also founds sergeys phone number on a Russian website, I called that number and it is barred.

Anyone have any other ideas?...any thoughts, help welcome.

Sorry, I didn't catch the part about him already being paid by you. And yes, 32,000. is a lot of $$. Still, you obviously knew he was trustworthy or wouldn't have paid it. I lived in Russia for two years. Doing business there is really difficult and requires eccentric behavior. If he wasn't the way he is maybe none of us would have the great glass he's found for us.

It is easy for me to say because I have every confidence you'll get glass worth much more than you paid. Give the man a chance. He doesn't deserve to be flamed here.

Give the man a chance is a way of saying hold on awhile longer before posting negative statements that can harm the reputation (translate business) of someone who's always come through in the end. How indignant will you feel if we learn Sergey is laid up in the hospital or something? By the way, cell phones don't work everywhere in Russia and in remote places there may be no phones at all - I know.

There is a community aspect to this forum that is appreciated by most, I think. You might want to consider that since there was something of an ad hominem flavor to your post. You would have done well to have kept that to yourself until you knew more about Sergey's situation.

I'm sure you're a stand up guy who's simply irritated and nervous about the big $$ you put on the line - totally understandable. But a little more grace won't cause you any harm.

Rick, what you find acceptable if find unacceptable that's clear. How long do you want me to wait?, where is the cut off? 2 months, 3 ?.
I still don't think you quite understand what is happening here. I paid for the lense in the picture. There was a bit of work to be done on them. Then I was told they had been sent, and I do not have them. If the tracking number was tracebale i would be a happy bunny, at least i would have something to tell me they were in transit and I would not be on here, I am trying to find out where they or Sergey is. Nothing I am saying is fallacy as you suggest with your ad hominem comment. I am fully aware of this community rick, I've been a member of it for over 5 years, that is why I am reaching out for help. Please don't try and make this look like a witch hunt, because that is not what it is. Your comments of grace and such like really do not help matters. I'm interested to know if you Have you done business with serg in the past?
