    Hey

Here is my first Scarlet film I shot with Tempest Freerunning. A lot of great tricks and flips captured with the beauty of the Scarlet!

I used a Glidecam XR-4000 ,Smooth Shooter vest and arm ( Thank You Thomas Howie from Glidecam Industries for the gear!) , Scarlet-X on RedVolts, Canon EFS 10-22mm and Canon 14mm 2.8L mk2.

My workflow was Direct import to Premiere 5.5 , back and forth with AE for grading blends of 2 exposures, painting out shadows ect. , Then Colorista for the final grade.

Its 720P so you may want to bump it up.

For the type of shooting I do, its mostly guerilla shooting since the nature of shooting parkour and freerunning is usually run and gun like skateboarding. I feel the Scarlet is just the right size that I can
still do everything I was doing with the 5Ds but with much better flexibility and results. And it was AMAZING on the Glidecam XR !

You shoot for Tempest? [Levels of jealousy rising...] I've always wanted to shoot parkour. :-)

Nice! Was it shot at 2k for the slow motion? Or did you use software for that?

    Hey Mark, Thank you!

Nope All 3K. Thats the only way to get slo-mo out of my Ultra-Wide lenses. If I shot 2K , I would have to use the 8-15 Fisheye zoom to shoot at the distances I like to be at for these types of tracking shots heheh

    Hey Adrian,

I would of LOVEEEED to go back to RCX and grade the final, but because I shot everything at 48fps but at a base timecode of 23.97 and a did a TON of retimes, RCX doesn't support the retiming, so I did a sort of backwards color grade: I graded my shots in RCX , then SAVED RMD, then in Premiere, loaded up the RAW Source Settings and just hit RELOAD RMD. Unfortunately, I looks the LOOKS and Alchemy , but hopefully they will let that transfer in the future.

As fas the fake HDR, What I was doing for some shots was kicking out 2 exposures of the clip. Say I had an athlete running from a shaded area into sunlight. I was able to kick out both exposers, layer them on top of each other,
and mask in or cross fade between the two, So I was able to keep everything exposes. those shooting conditions were tough since there was a lot of pipes and overhead platforms that made some of the more interesting areas very shady.

I tried HDXx for the shot that is an exterior to interior, but I wasn't please with the results, so I faked it with a power mask to exposure inside of the room, and then ditch the mask when he exits the building.
