Are you actually able to sell it after you bought it? Isn't it now registered to you as end user for updates etc....? i would think this is how any software works no? Or maybe it all depends on serial number and if it was registered yet....how does one check this?

Davinci resolve comes with serial number and usb key, serial number is for updates that you can download from blackmagic design website and usb key is for using/activating the program. Basically you need disk usb key and serial number to be able to work with it. You can install it 100 times if you want as long as you have that usb key. You can't open the program with out usb key.

Yes, it's all about the dongle key. You don't even really need the disk.
