How is the X-10, by the way? I'm thinking about buying one but would like some opinions first.

Got X-10 - worth every penny. But if you ok to spent about 6-8K for a really good one it would be much better option :) Glidecam sleds extremly difficult to adjust. But with some pain you can get absolutely professional results - same as on 10K system.

I haven't tried the X-10 as I only own the Smooth Shooter, but I can get great results with it. I also find the sled very easy to adjust and can set up a completely out-of-balance rig in 2-3 minutes. However, again, I've not tried another so I don't have anything to compare it to.

I fly the Scarlet brain, monitor, Tokina 11-16 (or Canon 28/f1.4) and AB setup. I don't know the weight but I do know that if I add any more it will be too top heavy to fly. I may try to purchase additional weights for the bottom. The Smooth Shooter can take more weight than what I fly and still have room for adjustment. How much more weight my back can take is unknown.

I don't see the point to use a 15K$ to 30K$ cinecam with a consumer stabilizer... You have tons of great steadi tools out there for real pro use : Tiffen, GPI, Aigle and so on...

there is only one point that holds everyone from buying MK-V AR - budget,
plus I don't think that steadicam units can be professional or consumer, results are, if your footage is steady - it's professional
