Client wants a scratch track for tomorrow and I was banking on this cheap XLR adapter to work with a RODE NTG-2 but I can't get levels. Levels pop as I plug in, but then nothing -- changed battery, still nothing so I'm thinking it's the cable. Please email or PM me if you have a cable or advice.

    Thanks,

I had to get a audio guy to rewire my mic cable, twice. It's tricky with Epic, typical mini mics like you use on DSLRs don't work out of the box. They are wired wrong but can be converted. Sorry I can't tell you all the audio lingo like not, cold neutral, or trs vs whatever, I just know that Epics are different. I had a couple of XLR to 1/8th inch mini jack cables made for me as well. These are for pro mics and pre amps. Only cost about 8 bucks each.

Just to follow up, nothing needed to be re-wired- Chirs's suggestion for a stereo to mono adapter worked perfectly.
