Just bought this K5 Slider from Konova and it's really for the money I spent, really smooth and well made, very impressed with this. Put a Gitzo head on the slider and it's really very very smooth when doing camera movements. A keeper for me. If you decide to get one you should from their direct website, Ebay doesn't give you a choice of sizes, I got the 120cm one. 4 ft. But the K3 slider is a lighter weight product, might not work for EPIC or Scarlet.

$529 for the 4 ft. one..I'm loving the one I have, shooting it on a project next week.

Really smooth, I set it up with a lightweight config. and it has 4 heavy duty ball bearings. They've also got a inexpensive crank handle and motorized handle also, haven't tried to motor handle, but the price and quality so far so good, at least for me.

Slider weights about 14 lbs. and the feet are adjustable, have bubble levels on both sides of slider. Finish is good. I think you could load this up lots heavier and it would be just fine.

Actually you're right, it's probably less than that, just remembered that the total package weight shipped was 14 lbs and I went ahead and got the crank handle. Probably only 10 or less, will weigh it as soon as I've time, just shot a quick test in the house with my EPIC, glides pretty well for a inexpensive piece of gear. For what I paid, pleased.

I have the K3 and I use it with my Scarlet. Although, I only use it with a minimal setup (Side Handle, IDX Battery Plate, Lens Hood, no Mattebox)

I thought about getting the K5 because they claim it will handle more weight, but I just wasn't sure. For under $600, it's a really good buy for a slider.

Here is why I like my K3

    1. Small and compact
    2. Easy set up
    3. All Terrain adjustable gripping legs (removable)
    4. Optional crank
    5. Optional motorized crank
    6. Adjustable tension of bearings (if you loosen it too much it'll wobble, but that's with any slider)
    7. Comes with a case and all the tools for taking it apart
    8. Cheap
    9. Vertical slide
    10. Feels smooth solid slide on tripod

By no means is the K3 perfect for the EPIC/SCARLET, but it is USABLE and works well with Run n Gun style of shooting.

For the price you pay, I don't know any slider that is as good, and I've used a LOOOOT of sliders.

I'll have to try my hand at the K5 to see if it's better at handling a bigger load.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but what head are you guys using on your sliders?

I have a Konova slider and also recently just bought a motorised digislider.

I'm using a older Bogen 3063 fluid head on mine that I had laying around, working just fine. Just don't load it up with a heavy matte box, I use Canon glass and keep the rig lightweight and it works wonderfully, usually use two tripods on each side of the slider. For the price you can't beat it.

    I'm using the K5.
