Not really a complain per say but more of a statement,..,it's bad enough that it keeps losing connection but on top of that the Redmote dies way to fast and is unable to last even close to a full productIon day....what's even worse is that it seems to take forever to recharge (have to leave it hooked up all night). I almost wish you could at least swap out batteries for it but that's not possible either. Will power consumption be optimize be in future firmware? Is there a faster way of recharging the redmote? Right now I hook it up to a tower via USB...would using a iPad charger with a USB connection recharge it faster?

Ipad usb charger will work, not sure if it is faster. My early Redmote battery would die after a few days without use. Red fixed it for free, runs fine now. My second Redmote that came eith my Epic-X has been fine. There are dtap to usb adapters available from Viewfactor and others to power the Redmote when it is mounted near the camera. Hope this helps.

If your redmote looses connection, put in a support ticket. There is a fix you can probably do at home. Mine is perfect now..........

How much time do you get out of a full charge? I only get about five hours.

    Hi!

Besides Viewfactor, what other companies offer D-Tap to USB adapters?

    Thanks!

  8. #8 Targus Batteries for REDMote
I bought a couple of these targus batteries: http://www.targus.com/US/productdeta...=7&sku=APB27US
    they work awesome.

I have been testing them. It comes with a USB-Micro USB with a micro - mini adapter. This is perfect because the REDMote requires a mini-USB and the Targus charges via micro. The Targus uses the same cable to charge itself as it does to charge the other devices! Very efficient.

I started with both REDMotes fully charged and turned them on. I plugged a battery into one (REDMote A) and left the other disconnected (REDMote B).
A lasted all day, beyond ten hours and eventually died sometime in the night. It had gone 5 hours and the Targus battery was not down even one bar (of four). B drained to the last 25% of its life in 4 hours, at which point I plugged in the Targus battery. The REDMote didnt just stay at 25%, it actually charged, and had a full charge in about 2.5 hours. Much faster than charging it via laptop. It also lasted well into the night.

I drained both REDMotes overnight and charged the Targus batteries.
I plugged A into the laptop I am using and the battery light on the REDMote started to blink, so it started its charge. It was unusable for about 2+ hours until it automatically turned on with enough life. I plugged B into the Targus and it immediately turned on. In less than 3 hours it is near fully charged.

The benefit to the Targus batteries for charging is the immediate ability to turn on and use the REDMote, whereas using the computer to charge doesnt seem efficient at all. I highly recommend having these or another similar battery in the Epic kits.

    George,

Our PTAP to USB is Patent pending so if there are any other makers of such a product let us know so we can put them on our list. We are the only maker of such a device.

I don't know what you said, but you will probably increase your audience a hundred fold if you use the default font, font size and color. Just sayin'.

One camera is a shoot... two or more is a production.
