I apologize about the confusion, but we still allow control over such a thing through selection of resolution, framerate & compression ratio. Compression like the one we employ does not really work with "X" bits per pixel, it works with "X" bits per frame (compression ratio). That is what controls the quality (and thus how many bits are used). 12- or 16-bit input changes nothing about that (it just picks where you throw data "away"). So you definitely have the control you wanted, it's just a different, but better (!), knob to turn.
