    Hey guys. Firmware 3.0 came out and is now on my Scarlet. The problem is still there. And on a side note so you don't make the same mistake: The update deleted my presets, I guess I could have thought of that, but they could have put that into the update procedure txt next to the other warnings.

    I did the following test:
    Since the framerate the camera really records is set under "project" I thought maybe if I had set that to 25 and the front menu fps to 30 I could have the best of both worlds. Fail. Filming a fan and a lightbulb revealed that there's an obvious difference in the perception of light with the 25 and 30 fps front menu setting even though the file itself is always 25 under "project". That might have been obvious, but I thought I'd give it a try, you never know.

    @Martin: I should have seen this problem before my test, but up until recently I had always used the Scarlet handheld or fixed without pans. And during the car chase scene I was shaking and screaming behind the camera with ice blowing around my head...

    I cannot rent the camera without a fix for that. The people who rent from me do commercials and I'll never rent this camera again if I rent it like this.

    i can't tell if my red touch is different, or maybe it is just a matter of the LCD's speed in general, but to me a bit stuttered look of 24fps on the LCD does look if not normal, but I'd say familiar,
    I get the same on my EX1 and EX3;

    I assume everyone that is complaining knows the difference between 24fps stutter and 60fps ( like what you see on a DSLR ) stutter.. heh heh heh we just had one guy show us this problem and he clearly did not. Funny stuff. He was a bit embarrassed.

    but.. we are going by the few people that have said they push a button and it stops.. so looking into it.. could always be a bug.

    Jarred. Did you have a look at my video? I put it on private on Youtube for the time being. I've made it public just now, so you can have a look at what i see on my monitor.

    Let me know when i can take it offline.

    Thanks for your concern.

    I have a weird issue. About 10% of the upper portion of my HDSDI monitor output stutters. Though everything else seems to function as it should. I see it on recording and playback as well. Touch LCD and footage on SSD are fine. Will have to do some more testing to isolate this.

    Jarred, thanks for looking into it. It's definitely not a normal 24 or 25p stutter. Martin's video gives a good impression of how the stutter feels. It comes in waves, about a second apart and it's quite severe during pans.

    Martin, we never got in touch again, but looking at your video and putting on my 85mm for the first time this week, it seems that i am having the same problem in 25p. Didn't notice it before, but with the longer lens the behavior is more apparent. hmmm, let's see if this can get resolved. Did you already post the camera to RED europe?
