  1. #1 How much needed for Stage 3 from RED UK?
Could you please tell me somebody who get Epic from RED UK.
I can't understand how much money really need for Stage 3?
The cost of Stage 3 is 10500!

    1. First deposit - 5000 USD
    2. Second deposit after esimate camera is about 6500 GBR but it is 10300 USD.
So all the money needed is 5000+10300=15000 USD?
Sorry I am in some confuse Correct me please if I am wrong.
I think people in US get second deposit as 5500, so buying camera in US Stage 3 cost 10500 but buying from RED UK it is cost 15000? 5000 is taxes?

So cost of Stage 3 from US is 10500 but cost of Stage 3 from RED UK is 15500?
    How can it be?

    Hi Alexey,

nobody can tell you now exactly what you'll pay since exchange rates are moving rapidly these days plus your camera may need minor repairs. But RED took very good care of us in Europe. You are not charged duties or taxes twice for your payment of the original R1. Plus, the new duties they pay (and charge you) are small, 280 GBP in our case (you may find some differences, since we were early adopters getting an extra discount on the R1).

It all boils down to taxes inside Europe more or less. If you are registered with a VAT number, RED Europe will bill it without adding taxes, and you'll have to pay your local VAT with your next VAT declaration (19% in my case, Germany).

But I can't directly compare our bill to what you have to expect, since my R1 needed some minor repairs and of course they have to charge for them. But rest assured that you are only paying for the difference between the value they calculate for your R1 and the final value of your Epic.

    Hope this helps.
    Regards,

    Uli

Thank you, Yes, but it needs to understand how much need you to pay.
Because if the difference so huge (hope I am wrong) and 5500 and 10500 so 5000 is a big money may be it is more usefull to get camera from US for 5500 (second deposit) and not from RED UK for 10500 (second deposit).

I don't get your point, sorry. If you import it into Europe legally, you have to pay those taxes for the full difference between the price of your R1 and the Epic.

    It is a huge difference
especially if somebody just has not extra 5000 USD additionally to 10500 which was paid.
In USA there are a lot of friends who can get Epic for 5500 (second deposit) and then just carry it or get it in USA at them, in this case paymant is only 5500 but from UK it is needs to pay 10500 it is a big difference. But anyway if somebody just has not this extra 5000 USD he can't pay it because he think he need 10500 for Stage 3 and is found that 15500.

I have spoken at length about this before - there is no mark up on RED products sold from RED Europe, including the Stages.
RED products which are purchased from RED Europe are priced in GBP(Sterling) and the price includes shipping, insurance and import duty to the UK (EU) - we start with an exchange rate which is set to reflect the previous 3 months average.
Whilst different products attract different rates of import duty the overall increase tends to average at 6%.
We are not adding $5,000.00 to the price of the Stage 3 package. The US reservation fee ('first deposit') is converted into Sterling and credited to the UK account.

    Hi Alan,

thanks for your Info. How much is the invoice in GBP for Stage 3? I know it depends on the "Bonus" for the Red One... In the best cast its 28.000 US minus 17.500 US (Trade-in) plus import duty = GBP?

    OK - Here is the current UK Stage 3 pricing;

    Stage 3 EPIC-X package = £19,140.00
    Stage 3 Deposit = £3,230.00
RED One trade in value = £11,295.00

There is a tax payable for re-import of the camera to the US = £280.00

So, assuming that the RED One is not in need of any remedial repair work, the settlement needed will be £4,335.00
    Total UK payment = £7,565.00

Note that VAT is excluded from these figures and is chargeable at 20% where applicable.

    Thank you Alan!
Correct me please, maybe I made some mistake in computation.
If first deposit for Stage 3 was 5000 USD and then after estimation of RED ONE the second deposit was 6500 GBR ((it is 10500 USD) so the whole cost of Stage 3 is 15500? Where is the mistake?
