If you mean the sensor upgrade, this is confusing because things changed over time, but the upgrade for RED ONE MX is the EPIC-X. That's also why they offered the upgrade path to EPIC. This has been discussed in a lot of other threads.

So the answer to "will you be able to exchange/upgrade sensors after MX in the RED ONE?" is "no" (as far as a non-red person can say)
Upgrade to EPIC if you haven't already through one of the stages.

The upgrade you are asking for is ongoing right now, and will be its final upgrade. Stage 3/3.5

RED offered a full value trade-in for the RED One owners who wished to remain "rendering obsolescence obsolete".

There will not be a sensor upgrade. There have been no new firmware updates in quite sometime due to the fact of its stability and realizing that we are onto something much better...that being the DSMC (EPIC/SCARLET are the first of many "brains" to come).

In summary, it looks as if the RED One is as complete as it will ever be...

I remember reading just the opposite for Jarred or Jim somewhere recently. Something about the R1 just dosen't have the processing power to handle it. I could be not remembering that correctly but I'm pretty sure.

This is an old post from last June so maybe things have changed but it looks like the Dragon Sensor upgade is for EPIC X or M only...not even Scarlet has the horse power:

Do not forget the board upgrade for the original owners who kept the R1, to allow an easy transition to the Dragon sensor.;-)
