On a new Mac Pro with RR, can you edit full rez in premier?

Will, this all depends on what you mean by EDIT....just pure cuts? Like Blair, i'm asking WTF? I've got a RR card, Quadro 4000; 32gb Ram and can't do anything in Realtime on my 2009 mac pro.....1/2 rez to a point....as long as i let it buffer....so take that for what it's worth...but on RCX i can do it in FULL REZ---I ask WHY? what is NOT working in Premier or what is not optimized as of TODAY. Sure feels like something is screwed up somewhere.

Edit:...add some effects to your Raw clips and boom....i can't even get 1/4 rez playback....

Yeah, I feel you Johnny. I've got a pretty similar system but without full quality playback, I can't tell if my camera shots have shake or it's the computer. At least is sounds like I can check my shots in RCX.

How's 32gb ram working? Could it use more? Thinking about 24-64gb as a final update on this 2009 MP.

Depending on the effects you add (not all support GPU/CUDA rendering), all the work is done in the CPU (or GPU). When the CPU has to do all the work with 5K footage I believe it doesn't matter if you have the Rocket (it just speeds up debayering/decompressing). And that's some heavy work for the CPU to do.
