Good catch Kennan! Did you guys see it coming? This year I am going back to home in Chile for a few time to go to Patagonia to work with Mountain Lions again...very exiting the wild cats! Isn't It?

I PM you this morning for some info to include you in the directory, mainly your skills. If you PM me what you like to post I will be happy to do it.

    Thanks,
    Christian

Guys, the list is slowly growing. Keep in mind the directory is not only for experienced cinematographers. if you are in your first or 2nd year working in wildlife filmmaking you are very welcome to include your info in the directory.
I know we are a small group in this ocean of talented filmmakers here on Reduser, but I am trying to convince Jared to create a forum for Natural History for all of us interested in the subject. No luck for now so let keep this list growing and we will see what happens in the future.

    Christian,

This is great! Some of us will also pick up outside non-motorized sports and adventure assignments as well as Natural History. I routinely get travel assignments and they say no need for nature and wildlife .They end up asking for any pick-ups of wildlife I shot for stock, by adding in the time while on location. In the past and today we need to entertain and all subjects need to round out the story, and keep the audience interested. Even I fall asleep with David Attenborough even though I love the content. Maybe it is the only time I can relax, watching nature!

There are many people who love Natural History, it is a tough single market to live or make a living from. We survive after 30 some years only because we own all our stock and equipment. On the Bobcat shot, we watched for a month the same spot. National Geographic would have cut funding after 4 hours! With all that blind time, Karen and I did learn to identify Gulls now!

Keep this flowing, finally a main artery into the real life's of weird Nature people! A Natural History in itself!

Keeping it truely wild and natural! Stay away from captive and controled temptations!

    With Respect,

    Kennan & Karen Ward

Thank you for creating this forum and for your invaluable advise and guidance off-line.
I too have sent you my details for the directory.

Working in Natural History projects primarily in stills, I am now moving full ahead with digital cinematography, primarily but not
limited to underwater natural history work.
In the world of natural history documentaries, underwater is yet one more level removed from the mainstream production. A specialty within a specialty.
I lead underwater photography expeditions all over the world and having the opportunity to bear witness to some of the most amazing wildlife moments
particularly underwater, and the affordability of DSMC prompted me to finally move forward with the best acquisition possible. For me it is all about 'being there' .
I take many (albeit calculated) risks to capture my images underwater- I am excited to finally be able to bring back what I am seeing at the highest possible level.

    Un abrazo- mauricio

Fantastic initiative Christian! And good to see that comes from a Spanish speaker too ;) As a young wildlife filmmaker is great to keep in touch with the community around here...(that Nature subforum would be great!). I will send you my info.
    Gracias y un fuerte abrazo!

I can help with US/Can. based 4x4/off-road production transport services. A good example would be to remote Canyonland locations in Utah, Deathvalley, etc.

Extreme 4x4 services for small crews and heavy gear loads in all terrain and weather.
