@Harrison - I hope you get yours soon! That's certainly a long time to wait, really feel for you.

@Sergio - thanks for the advice, hopefully you're right!

@Scott - This is the complaints forum, after all. And most people are offering great advice, solutions, and helping me keep my head up in a time of great financial burden, and difficult decisions. I offered my previous work as a compliment to Red, and to show my loyalty and familiarity with the product. There is no need for your attitude, and no one is forcing you to read this thread.

If your previous 1,011 posts are anything like this one, I'm sure we'd all appreciate you stopping.

We've all got our difficulties, and anyone who is still here following along, reading this stuff has also been waiting. That there is plenty of reason for the attitude. You go on ahead and complain all you want, just don't expect a lot of sympathy. The guys who are showing you some have a lot of heart. Good on 'em. Maybe mine is two sizes too small.

Matthew, in 1,000 posts I have never shown this kind of hostility, not that I'm asking for your forgiveness. I simply have no more patience for whining drivel. You might show me a fraction of the patience that you and Andrew seem to be asking of the rest of us.

Sure, especially when you refer to a complaint in the complaints department as "whining drivel", I'll give you a fraction. Cheers.

Oh I never said the complaint is in the wrong place, it just has no merit. Cheers to you.

I'd bet there are many who disagree with you there, but hey, I'm done with the quick jabs. Peace?

Guys, let's chill on this one. It sounds like Andrew is considering his options, some of which are still RED. Maybe the title of the post should have been - Should I break up with RED? We all get furstrated at times in life. In general I am a patient person, but waiting for gear is one of those things that I am a bit impatient about. Fortunately, B&H Photo ships stuff UPS ground to me the next day, so I get spoiled.

I think if Andrew hangs in there, he'll forget all about the wait once the camera ships to him. He'll be too busy shooting to worry about it at that point. And that's a good thing.

I'll admit, waiting for Stage III has got me down, and I'm wondering about jumping ship also, but wont a RED ONE MX shoot images as well as a Scarlet?

Andrew, Chances are you will receive your camera within the next four weeks, maybe sooner. Don't compromise project after project on a lesser camera. I couldn't imagine going to an F3 or something after shooting Red. Couldn't do it.

As for spending $12k on rentals while waiting, I assume you mean since November as you refer to waiting for the Scarlet, and since you knew you wouldn't receive it before December no matter what, you must mean the last 6 weeks. You probably could have bought a second hand R1 for about that much then resold it for $11k when your Scarlet arrives. We all knew it would take some time to get these out the door and you have to do some planning ahead of time.

My Scarlet arrived a few days ago, and is a perfect sibling to my Epic X, which arrived 3 months ago. Happy days!
