first day shooting in actual snow... using a kata bag for an hvx200. and a manfrotto variable friction arm to hold an umbrella over the camera while waiting inbetween takes.

some sort on one way air vent would be for rad for the top vent and the front fan.
i use frogzskin vents on my snowmobile to help air intake on my clutch but water doesn't come in (that i've noticed). something like this would be awesome for scarlet.

for me the time inbetween taking the camera out of the bag and getting it on to the tripod with raincover is the trickiest part.

thanks for all the feedback so far guys!

Angenieux 25-250 "T2" Zoom. the speed is t3.9 but for some reason the model is "T2"

marshall makes it... uses velcro to secure it on there.... but from my experience the velcro comes off in the cold.... i've been shooting in -25c for the past week or so here in BC... i wanna find a elastic style hoodman and just modify it....

I'll post for real with some higher resolution stills/r3ds later but I took my scarlet out on Tuesday and didn't have any ill effects. It went unprotected, except for my warm embrace.

    Hey Brian,
We have a couple of 504 heads and really like them. They will be great for your camera when set up prety light, but might be a bit small for a fully loaded rig with external devices. We use a 509 for our larger rigs and 504 for lightweight stuff. The design and build is quite nice!

Also, I know this is off topic, but how do you like the Manfrotto 504HD fluid head? I noticed you have one in your photo.
