This evening we tested four brand new, fully charged, Redvolts in the Scarlet-X in standby mode.

    Keep in mind that:

    - These are brand new Redvolts on their first charge.
    - We obviously had the side handle attached.
    - We have a 5" touchscreen LCD hooked up ... and the Redmote docked, but fully charged and not drawing a charge from the camera.
    - The fans were set to "Auto" and the camera left only to standby in a moderately warm room. We did not roll the camera for this test.
    - If it matters to anyone, I had the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L II zoom lens attached.

All four Redvolts lasted 40 minutes (give or take 90 seconds). I was hearing 30-35 minutes with the Epic, so this might be a slight edge the Scarlet has.

Obviously, this time will shorten when rolling the camera, but good news.

Question: Anyone know if playback is enabled in the Scarlet-X yet?

Hmm ... I better stop drinking whiskey, and put the cigar down.

    Thanks, Stephen.

I had a chance to mess around with Scarlet a bit today, and pressing the triangular button in the upper left of the LCD take it into Playback mode (if I remember correctly). Playback was snappy and smooth.

As I understand it, there has been no power management programmed into the firmware as yet, so rolling the camera might not actually cut this 40 minutes down. Once there is power management enabled, then there will be a difference from running standby vs. shooting. Again, this is just how I interpret what I have read here on Reduser so far.

Yeah ... I found that triangular "play" symbol in the upper left corner and got the camera into playback mode ... but the controls are grayed out.

First night of tinkering and testing ... and celebrating.

I'll drain two batteries - rolling the whole way - just for you, Terry.

Let's test this out. I'll report back.

I really wish you titled this thread "Scarlet: Red Volt Battery Test"
Still, great work. Can't wait to find out how long the batteries last when the camera is rolling.

Were you in HDRx mode? Perhaps playback worked for us because we weren't in that mode, but I can't recall.

ditto. . . I'm selecting recorded clips but playback is greyed out and oddly when metadata is viewed there is NONE....
bringing clips into RCX via the red station is fine.

edit/update: cycled power by removing a/c completely and ejected and psychically reinserted mags and could playback previously recorded clips. not sure why it wouldnt work immediately but there it is now
