Excellent thread idea. I'll definitely post my pics here once I have my scarlet rig set up. :)

I included more details into my original post. I hope this is more helpful.

    Daniel,

The dolly isn't a DIY. They are the Midas Mount System.

They sell the whole system with rails which I thought was pretty nice. You can use anything for rails though. PVC, Pipes, etc. I think this system is very "DIY"able, but Midas Mount does sell it for relatively cheap, so you have to decide whether spending the time to make it is more cost effective than buying. I would consider the opportunity costs when making your decision.

Thanks Lliam! I can't wait to see your rig posted.

I figure since Phil is out in Texas, USA, he'll be too busy posting his RED SCARLET-X findings on a more regular schedule, so we need to occupy our time by checking out each other's rigs.

They asked for rig specs too, unfortunately not that many complied, pity as it makes a huge difference to others. So I'd like to echo Pete that'd it'd be fantastic if we could all make a concerted effort to do so.

    Quick question guys,

Is it possible to mount the 5" Touch LCD on a Red/Noga arm or similar? I'd like it to be a little more flexible then hard-mounted to a plate or the top of the camera.

    Thanks.

Here is a list of this rig.

    RedrockMicro Mattebox
    Midas Mount’s skate-rail dolly
    View Factor’s APU-IDX V-mount battery plate
    VL batteries
    Zacuto Universal Baseplate
    Redrock Micro Shoulder Mount
    18" 15mm rails
In order to get the mattebox to the correct height, we added the microLink3.

Great looking rig! Really helps a lot to see one put together and have the parts list!

What is the large device with the turning knob that screws into the Midas dolly? I don't see that in the list, but ... I may be blind?

    Thanks!!!

I did forget to mention the Manfrotto 501 Head. It's a cheap head and not very fluid, but for dollying, it does the job.

I'm actually not sure. I haven't really paid attention to it. We have 6 IDX batteries on set and the charger, so I never really worry about it. I'll do a test and get back to you on that since the SCARLET has many factors that will determine the power usage like different fan speeds

I'm looking forward to seeing other pics on this thread to help me determine how to build out my rigs.
