    Thanks Anders.
Since you've apparently tested Cineroid and Zacuto as well, can you elaborate a little more on those? Specifically I'd be curious to know if you would consider those usable or not for focusing with Epic/Scarlet.
    Thanks
    Alvise

Anders, did you ever use the original Red One EVF? If so, how would you compare them?

My Opinion: For critical focus on the Epic i believe the minimum resolution should be around 720p min. None of these external finders have that. They all have a good amount of motion blur,so depending on your subjects it might be very hard to track focus. None of the external finders are totally crisp, there is something apparently soft in the downscale from input to output. The Alphatron has a peaking effect, but it seems to me that the width of the "unsharp mask" is too wide,so a lot of Halos but nothing crunchy.

Regarding the original RED EVF, on a good warm day it was pretty good. There was no motion blur at all because its sequential, and its pretty crisp.
Black level was so-so, but when new it was pretty good. The dimension of the lens and the eye point was perfect, image size is almost perfect as well. The housing was very large and the shape...well....

The Bomb EVF oled has a better panel, the size of the housing is great, but unfortunately the lens diameter is too small, creating an un optimal eypoint (you have to press your eye tight against the rubber cup to see the whole image. It can be problematic to do that if you use a chamois eye cushion. So great crisp image, good image size (maybe a tad too small), but unfortunately the lens system is a bit un-optimal.

So best finder for the EPIC, in my opinion is still the Bomb EVF OLED, but without an eye cushion. It's really unfortunate that the modules are this delayed, because the BEVF and touchscreen combo would be really great when running both.

Obviously it's shipping. The point is not enough are as I'm not one of the first 400 who ordered.

Based on the field review here and a recent change in my power system, I'm canceling my order.
