Toured the site for REDuation NY today - Steiner Studios in Brooklyn - we will have two stages for the class, one for instruction and one we will convert into a 4K theater to review student footage and some other 4K material we will bring with us. We also organized some transportation options for students and for the open house which we will send along to the registrants shortly- more info at http://www.red.com/learn/reducation/reducation-may-2012
Having a short notice meetup tonight in Brooklyn at the Tap House if anyone is in the area - should be there around 7pm.
That's cool Iain. Great we're finally get to meet.
I think the extended courses have just been out of the LA courses due to the post houses (e.g. Lightiron) involvement. I see that NY course has a 2-day post course after that. I for one would hope that we could get the post-course at some point here in the UK.
:))
Lets see if they let michael into the country this time, steve. ;)
Hi All,
New to this forum and to RED, I have registered for the London REDucation in September. Coming from the stills world, I am discovering the Motion side of things and am looking forward to learning a lot during those 3 days. Don't own a RED camera yet, I make do with my 5D mkII, got a BMD camera on order for July and will likely buy a Scarlet-X in June. Not a professional as all guys here but hopeful that I will nonetheless be accepted in the community and have the opportunity to share my enthusiasm and passion for beautiful images.
Cheers
Vincent, you should have a great time at REDucation. This is be a great opportunity to get your hands on the different models of RED cameras and experiment. From my experience the classes are very much driven by the students. The more questions you ask, the more you and everyone else will get out of the class. The other benefit is the opportunity to network with members of the RED User community. I hope I get the chance to meet you in September!
Thanks for the kind words John! I am thrilled to join the RED users community and finally put my hands and experiment with these fantastic cameras.
Hey Brian, what times are the 3D courses being taught (I looked all over your links and even called the studio)? I took the reducation course last year and got a nice gig as a DIT going from it, now I want to learn the 3D stuff too. But I also have to get the doctor that day so I really need to know the times for the 3D classes, and if me taking last years NYC class means I met my prereq or not. Thanks so much, hoping to be there! You guys got me from being a broke college student, to out of debt and making the best money of my life, red brings home the proverbial bacon for me and im glad i happen to have the 24th and 25th off from shooting to try and make it in if you guys let me! Thanks
Brian,
Great that you have been working with what you learned last year, that is what REDucation is all about. The NY 3D will be from 9-6pm the 24th and 25th and will be taught at OffHollywood in Manhattan. Hopefully you can also join us for the open house on the 23rd in Brooklyn!
Brian
Hiya! Just signed up the LA class... awesome! Doing a whirlwind trip of the US doing all sorts of creative stuff... just managed to squeeze REDucation in! Stoked!
Have had very minimal experience with these cameras so looking forward to learning all about them and getting behind the wheel!
Cheers!
