Does anyone know how this Leica zoom compares to the Contax 35-70 3.3? I know in the Zeiss community, its popularity has reached almost mythical proportions and they are getting harder, and harder to find. Similar characteristics: said to be as sharp as primes, no CA, and an incredible powerful macro function.

Were Lecia and Ziess perhaps trading blows? One trying to outdo another? Like Kobe Bryant and Jeremy Lin? (sorry, can't resist)

"said to be as sharp as primes, no CA, and an incredible powerful macro function."

Best description I have heard of this lens. I am getting offers for it but having a hard time let go to be honest!

ITs just a myth, does not really exist :P

    Clay,

    don't sell it.

Also I would buy it but I just paid for a Scarlet-X and C300.

I regret selling it already...I got several offers and the deal is almost done. Thanks for the kind words, I try not to get too attached to anything these days. :)

If I ship a lens for evaluation from europe, would the receiver have to pay an import tax?
