    Hi guys,

I've been searching for the answer to my question for almost a month but still haven't got a definite answer.
So, for those of you, who have used DP6 monitor with EPIC/SCARLET via HDMI, here goes:
does the monitor have to be mounted upside down and image flipped in menus when using DP6 with Red cameras via HDMI?

    source: http://www.smallhd.com/s.nl/ctype.KB...1694/KB.870/.f

I have a feeling that this information above applies only to Red One and not EPIC/SCARLET but would like a confirmation.

    Thanks and happy holidays,
    Kamilla

I can test it out this week and report back if no-one beats me to it.

Even if you need to mount upside-down and do an image flip on the SmallHD it really isn't a big deal. The SmallHD has mounting points on all four sides. I currently have two DP6's mounted upside-down on top of each other because it is just more convenient based on where the SDI barrel connectors are located.

On a separate note, the DP6 does not like the 720p signal that comes off the SDI tap on the Epic. I would assume this is because of it being a non-standard 29.97 refresh rate. I don't know if this will also apply to the HDMI but I can confirm that as well. Easy enough workaround by just outputting at 1080p.

It would be really appreciated if you could make this test and share your findings. Also, I know that mounting DP6 upside down is not a big deal (I own one). The problem is the placement of HDMI connector. If I were to mount the monitor upside down the cable would stick up in the air and that is not very practical in some configurations.

Fired up fine for me. 720p output from the camera, straight into the DP6 with no adjustments.

I've been using 3 different DP6's through HDMI with no problems. I had a slight issue with a DP4, but a firmware upgrade from a 2.0.2 to 2.0.5 seems to have fixed it.

I do notice the SDI output into my DP6 has a funny refresh issue at the top of the monitor, as if it lags a bit. Anyone else notice this with their DP6-SDI monitor?

I want to buy a cheap Scarlet setup and add later in 2012 further accessories like a BOMB EVF.

My plan was to use two DP6, one over HD-SDI as on camera monitor with menus (controlled via REDmote) and one over HDMI to a transmitter for the video village and for the focus puller.

Would that setup work? How about the mentioned HD-SDI lag with the DP6?

Kyle and Richard, do you find the DP6 good enough for critical focus in run and gun situations?
