  #1 RED INDIA
Ted has been globetrotting again (as he usually does).. this time he is in Mumbai to officially announce RED INDIA. We are very excited to officially expand our reach into India, and Ted is going to spend the next couple days spreading the word in person.

    From Ted:

I've been in Mumbai India for the past few days as a key part of my Asia journey, preparing for a major announcement. We just completed an event here in one of the most important and largest markets for Cinema in the world, launching RED INDIA. This center will be a hub for RED Sales, Service, Support, Workflow training and learning right in the heart of Film City in Mumbai. We will be housed inside one of the most prestigious, and well known Studios and Movie Production companies here in India, Yash Raj Films. They were an early adopter of RED technology, embracing the format and workflow, and I made many friends here in the process, and they graciously offered to be the location for this next step for REDs Industry support internationally.

I've secretly briefed a few of the key post, vfx and production companies in Mumbai about our RED INDIA Launch plans over the past few days, and the response has been overwhelming. Having a local presence in India to support the substantial growth of the RED ONE, EPIC and very soon SCARLET-X for the many projects being lensed all over India on these cameras is a really big deal for them. Relationships and local knowledge are critical here, just as in other parts of the world, and we are thrilled to take a more direct and Active Role in the motion picture Industry here in India.

Tomorrow morning we are off to Hyderabad and then Chennai India, also major cities for the India Cinema market for more meetings, EPIC footage screenings and Presentations. Looking forward to your feedback and thoughts on this next important step in REDs continuing evolution.

    + Ted

This is seriously awesome news - especially for me as I am in development on a few projects which are looking very closely at being Indian co-productions so knowing that we'll have additional world class camera support for RED out of Mumbai is a big deal.

Unleash the Beast - and then do a Dance Musical Number.

    This is exciting. World domination.

Just back at the hotel in Mumbai, heading out to next city in India in a few hours. Was an amazing evening, showing EPIC footage and demonstrating how easy and powerful the RED workflows are for post and DI. Really enjoyed the enthusiasm of the large crowd of DPs, Directors, Producers, and Post Professionals. Perhaps my favorite part of the evening was shooting various shots of the audience with EPIC under extremely low light conditions, during a Tea Break, and immediately loading that into a Rocket enabled Mac running REDCINEX Pro and Scratch, and showing the on set post logic and directly into grading.

Fun night - next country after 2 more stops in India is Japan!
