Was about to buy a BM DeckLink HD Extreme 3D but I only have one slot left in my Mac Pro.

The Nvidia GTX 285 use two slots. Actually a really good reason for going for the 4000. Should have listened to Jeff.

Do you think a Intensity Pro would work for running a Panasonic VT30? Or any other one slot card?

I don't fancy the idea of a Cubix...

    Thank you

For the HDMI port?... what about an HDLink to plug into your SDI outputs?... or... the ghetto approach... drill a hole on the metal mesh on the back of the mac pro to pass the cables to the hdmi bracket.

I'm leaning towards the ghetto approach:) I have been circling the tower like a vulture to try to find it's week point.

The Intensity Pro works really well. I'm using one with a VT25 and it's been great. A Decklink Extreme 3D adds SDI, 3D stereo, 3D LUTs, and 4:4:4 support, but I personally haven't needed any of those features yet. When I do, I'll upgrade.

    Thank you Jason.
Good to hear that you are happy with the card.
And yes, you can always upgrade later, and you don't have drill a hole in the Mac. Solid advice.

Very true Rob, and since I'm both interested in speed and on a budget I bought and are very happy with the 285.
And it looks like the Intensity should work. I'm gonna try it out.
