What is the wireless range of the REDMOTE? Also, what type of wireless radio does it use (Bluetooth, proprietary tech, etc.)?

I keep hearing people say that it's 2 feet. RED says it'll get longer eventually.

REDlink is proprietary, so you don't have to worry about cell phone or WiFi interference to / from the camera ...

I've been getting 1-2m, which just about allows me remote control of the camera on a strut mount on a Cessna - but I think greater range is planned and is something that will be enabled in a firmware update.

My range was terrible - dropouts even when right by the camera. A quick checkup with Red Europe yielded a workable 5-10m range - enough to work alongside steadicam and crane stuff effectively. The latest firmware is also much more responsive in my opinion.

Talk to Red if you're uncertain, as I was, where the line is between acceptable and unacceptable performance of the device - you may have a genuine problem.

    Nice one Deanan. :)

You know me though - get the Redmote working that nicely and I'll only want the Redmote Pro even more!
